Day 3: still going strong!
5:30am: roll out of bed and get ready for Bootcamp I teach at the high school down the street to some friends.
5:45am: walk down the street for extra steps even though sometimes it gives me the willies! I have my phone, a headlamp, and an ID bracelet just in case something were to happen.
6:00am: get a few warm-up laps around the track before class starts at 6:10am. Sometimes I get a mile in and sometimes just a couple of laps depending on how slow I walk over.
6:10am-7:00am: teach Bootcamp, run bleachers. This morning we did 6 2-exercise circuits and repeated each one 2 times. Each exercise was done for 30 seconds. Then we did an 6 minute ab routine plank style that was killer. Everything was shaking by the time we got to bleacher runs at the end of class.
7:00-8:00am: morning madness once again! Keeps my heart rate elevated and I’m energized from the workout, so I can cope. Ate a bowl of oatmeal and blueberries this morning. I added some chia seed, cinnamon, chopped dates, and pumpkin pie spice to the steel cut oats this morning. FYI: Bob’s RedMill Quick Cooking Steel Cut Oats are super amazing and, like the name says, quick!
8:00-12:00pm: shower, house cleaning, entertaining the little guy. That consisted of steam mopping all tile floors including bathroom floors in the house. Then going back over with a paper towel to wipe anything else off the ground. They sparkle and I was still working hard.
12:00pm: Really getting a stretch out of the Sweet Potato and Apple soup I made Monday morning. Warmed some of that up and it was tasty. I also had a few more of those pretzels my hands can’t seem to stop reaching for.
12:30-1:00pm: some down time to read. Got a text that I was needed to pick kids up from school. Grabbed shoes for the young man, ran out the door and waited in the car for the kids. They get out at 1:15pm on Wednesdays.
1:30pm: return home to the chaos of homework, papers, backpacks, shoes, sweaters, and toys flailing all over the house. I snuck in a few crunches here and there because I just like them. I shared a huge Honeycrisp apple with one of my daughters and I made 1/2 a PB&J sandwich as well for myself.
3:00pm-5:00pm: Time for an after school activity and the kids’ afternoon snack of pretzels and raisins. Watch the gymnast, go get gas in the car. Tightening abs periodically during the car ride.
5:00-6:10pm: lazily make Ministrone soup. Chop all veggies and let soup simmer. The last 10 minutes of cooking I added some barley to the mix. It was delicious. I have 6 cups left over that will be used at husband’s Halloween Party at work on Friday. Love leftovers!
6:30pm-9:00pm: nightly pick up, dishes, kids dancing/singing to music, bedtime routine. And I followed the World Series on the internet while reading bedtime stories to children. Very exciting. Go Giants!!
9:00-10:30pm: Wait for Google Express to deliver cutie oranges that I need to draw pumpkin faces on tonight (with a food marker) for daughter’s Halloween party at school in the morning. Those smart teachers made Halloween a teacher workday, so they celebrate a day early. Will be asleep by 10:30pm. Where is this week going?!
Before I hop into bed I will do 10 pushups. That’s about all the energy I will have left after drawing 35 small pumpkin faces.
Keep moving and share with me how you keep moving, too!
